Our first Fieldtrip!

Today we went on our first fieldtrip up Payson canyon to collect leaves. We saw many different colors, some deer, squirrels, birds and snails. We even found a bird nest that had fallen out of a tree. We went on a nature hike and picked up different fallen leaves and acorns. We then took them back to our classroom to add to our trees we had made on Tuesday. Today was a wonderful day to be outside!

Smokey The Bear!

Smokey the Bear visited Castle Kids Pre School Today! What a way to bring in October! Today our class had a very special visitor, Smokey the Bear! Two Forest Fire Fighters also came to our class to teach us about fire safety. Our friends from Tumble Bugs Childcare and Pre School also joined in the fun. We had a full classroom today with 15 very excited kids. Each child got to have their picture taken with Smokey the Bear and a few of them were able to help the fire fighters with their presentation. Oct. first was a great way to start off our Fire Safety week, Oct. 4 through the 8. During Fire safety week we will learn more about fire safety in our home and our community. Thanks to all the helpers that came from Tumble bugs today! It was fun having your cute students in our classroom! Thanks to Castle Kids junior fire marshals for listening and participating in this fun day!

About Castle Kids!

Castle Kids Preschool is a new preschool located in Payson, UT with classes beginning fall 2009. I believe that early childhood is a time of exploration and discovery. I know that young children learn by “hands on” experiences. I am always finding new ways to enhance each child’s growth and development in a stimulating atmosphere of warmth and understanding. I believe in having low ratios to allow each child to develop as an individual as well as part of a group in a happy, safe, and nurturing environment. I have a structured center based learning curriculum that encourages learning through arts, language, music, pre-math, pre-reading, science, and socialization. Although my aim is to prepare children for kindergarten I also nurture the child as an individual and make learning a fun experience.
